Let's get the obvious out: I think that this is much better than watching the episodes because I can read at my own pace and I can rewind and fast forward whenever I want.
I also found that I'll retain information much easier than I would reading such as the fact that "According to Stella...each driver uses their own magical energy [to power their hovercars]" which totally explains why the specialists can travel back and forth from Magix but have never showed us any real magical skills (with the exception of Nabu). They power their own freakin' levabikes! However, it's doubly freaky because I can also see Morpheus (from the Matrix) walking in and giving them the human Duracell battery speech. I always thought that the only magical skill that guys could have was the mentally taming your dragon exhibition in Royal Heartbreak. Well, it's not flashy but it does obey the canon rules.
At this point, I consider myself really dense because Stella in the 4kids version said a similar line about how everything lives off its own magical energy. It just never occurred to me that that line was really important. Not to be redundant but I think my age is catching up with me.
And knowing that Roxy was the last fairy of Earth in season four and the author deliberately leaving the line about:
"They had ignored that there had been fairies on the planet Earth. They had thought that they had disappeared centuries ago. Hence, they ask who am I.
What do you mean, who am I? It is already incredible that I am a fairy. Could there be another mystery? Well...I'll look for an answer another time."
Well, that felt scary enough that I could have shivers running down my back.
Did Iginio Straffi deliberately plant this vague sentence to onset a masterpiece story of fairies that would take years to complete? To hook viewers to keep watching in vain for the day that Roxy Sue appeared in the canon, like seven years later?
Did he plan this all along?
I should not think about those kind of thoughts or else I might have a meltdown.
