Bienvenue à Magix: Chapter 3: Invisible Magic

By chance, Stella and I (or rather Varando of Callisto!) had been placed in the same apartment, with three other girls. My friend benefits by having a room all to herself while I have to share my room with a stranger.

When I enter my room, a nice and spacious place, I hear a cry. I did not walk on any one's toes though! I had trampled the stem of a green plant that was sprawled on the floor...

A young girl rushes to me, apologizing for leaving her things all over the place.

"This, this is a talking plant, one of my creations."

She bends down and affectionately scratches the 'chin' of the green plant. And then she introduces herself: Flora. Oh how she is feminine, with her long soft hair, her gentle voice, her miniskirt, puffed corsage... I already like her and I introduce myself without thinking:

"I'm Bloom."

Oh no, I messed up! I'm supposed to be this princess with a bizarre name... I mumble that Bloom is just a name I like a lot but that my real name is...is... Terrible lack of memory! Quickly, I check the inscription on the room's door.

"In fact...I am Varanda of Callisto."

Behind me, I hear a voice that exclaims:

"Callisto, the fourth universe of magic, the supreme kingdom! Greetings, I am called Tecna."

I turn and see a young girl dressed in a tight-fitting outfit and a violet lock that falls over her eye.

"Stella..." Tecna says. "Well, well... I've already heard talk about you!"

"Me too," said a newcomer. "Before you blow up the room, give us some time to make a shelter. Alright?"

They burst into laughter, soon joined by a fifth roommate, a pretty dark-haired girl with pigtails, attractive with her unique style, with a top that left one shoulder naked and her fashionable jeans. She is called Musa and she is just as cool as the other girls.

Our discussion is interrupted by a cry from Kiko, that Flora's plant is holding in the air.

Flora rushes to it. She scolds her plant, even though without doubt Kiko had tried to eat it. While I picked up Kiko to comfort him, she plants some magic seeds in a pot, blows on them delicately... In record time, carrots grow.

"And voilà, little hungry rabbit! A good platter of fresh carrots..."

Us as well, we are hungry. Stella suggests that we eat out, to celebrate the beginning of the new school year and get to know each other better. I approve it, very excited to discover downtown Magix

"How do you feel about pizza?"

"A pizza, what's that?

They don't know? I mumble:

"Uh... It's a famous dish from the planet where I come from... Uh... Of Callisto, of course..."

We take the bus, then the train. While getting into town, Tecna puts her hands on my eyes and forbids from looking before we leave the station.

She takes her hands away. What! This is Magix? The capital of magical realm? I waited to see dragons, gnomes, magicians, stores full of magic wands... And here we are in the heart of a bustling metropolis that looks like one of the big cities on Earth.

Stella bursts into laughter.

"Oh, là, là, Bloom! You're not in a fairytale! This is the real world. Here, magic is everywhere, but to see it, you have to look around you carefully."

She points out to the passing cars. That's weird... They don't have wheels. According to Stella, they don't use fuel either, because each driver uses their own magical energy. Like that car looking for a place to park in a full parking lot: in front of him, all the other vehicles move closer to each other to free up a spot for him. Oh yes... Here magic is everywhere, even if is rarely spectacular.
