Bienvenue à Magix: Chapter 4: What Bloom does not know

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Not far from the restaurant that which Bloom and her new friends are at, an optician receives a curious client: an ogre of yellow skin, with whiskers on the cheeks. For Knut is an enormous, scary, cruel ogre...but myopic!

The optician holds out to the ogre a pair of glasses to try. Knut is trying to place a flowery pink plastic frame on his nose when he sees, through the window, the happy group of Stella, Flora, Tecna, Musa and Bloom.

Knut cries out to the optician:

"Did you see what I thought I saw?"

"Certainly, sir," the salesperson says politely. "Uh..." he adds suddenly. "What did you see?"

"The girls on the street."

"Ah, they are probably students from Alfea. It's the beginning of the year, at the college."

The ogre rushes outside, the pink pair of glasses on his nose.

"Hey, give back my glasses!"

The ogre easily loses the optician. Without stopping, the ogre pulls out his cell phone and dials a number. On the other end of the line, a feminine silhouette answers.

"Hello? Ah, it's you, Knut, you useless and stinking ogre!"

The ogre does not let the insults and contemptuous tone affect him. He speaks to his mysterious correspondent:

"The fairy that you are looking here, in Magix! She's going downtown with her friends. You could go and get the scepter yourselves, your Ladyship."

What good news for "her Ladyship", who is thrilled!

"You're going to help us, Knut. Listen well... You will not disappoint us, this time..."

Forgetting that, without Knut, they would not even know that Stella is in Magix, her "Ladyship" dissolves into a line of threats. Like, for example, if he fails to stick his glasses on his fat nose with super glue. An ogre with glasses, they're a lot less scary, aren't they? Trembling in fear, Knut promises not to fail.
