Bloom loves Mike and Vanessa, her adoptive parents very much. If she had been coming for a visit, she would have been very happy to see them. But after three years of studying at Alfea, how difficult is was to become a normal Earthling!
The months go by in Gardenia, slowly, in a universe without magic...or almost. Bloom helps her mother in her flower shop. But when distracted, she breaks a vase and she cannot help but repair it with a spell learnt at Alfea.
"She looks like a bird in a cage," Mike says quietly to Vanessa.
"It's a fairy. Her life is not here..." his wife sighs.
"I would like so much that she be happy..."
"Me too... But what can we do for her?"
That night, Bloom ceases to dream, a lot of her dreams are nightmares. She calls in vain for her biological parents, who disappear in the fog... The Winx have completely forgotten her... Even Sky turns away from her... How she feels alone and abandoned!
One time, though, her sister Daphne, the nymph with the mask of light, comes to comfort her.
"Bloom...I have news about our parents... I am waiting in the magical dimension, at the lake of Light Rock... Come quickly!"
Upon awakening, a surprise awaits Bloom: the Winx Club and the Specialists were all invited by Mike and Vanessa, for her birthday!
"I was very busy, but I thought of you everyday," Sky assures her.
How happy she was to see her love and her friends! After they had danced and laughed together, she tells them about her dream.
"Would anyone like to come with me to the lake of Light Rock?" she asks timidly.
"What a question!" exclaims Stella. "Everyone, of course!"
It was the Specialists ship that brought them. Lo and behold Light Rock, with a large lake at its base.
Daphne comes out of the water and joyously steps forward towards her sister. Her ghostly hands clasps her sister's real hands.
"Bloom, are you ready to face terrible dangers to find our parents?"
"I've been prepared for a long time...I'm not scared, Daphne."
"Good. A shocking event is taking place on Domino: the ice that covers our planet has started to melt. In result, the Royal Library that our father had founded has reappeared, in Steep Mountain.* Me who thought it had been destroyed by the Ancestral Witches! The Library houses the Book of Destiny of our family..."
Bloom's face brightens.
"I'll leave for Domino right now!"
"Wait! It is so easy to get lost on our unfortunate planet... Take my mask, it will be useful for you. When you slip it on, you will see Domino through my memories... This will help you find the Royal Library."
* Originally Montagne Escarpée. Escarpé can translate as steep, rugged, craggy and rough. Most of dictionaries point to steep.
